Knowpher™ is a project management app, custom developed by and for FileMaker solopreneurs, freelancers, and subcontractors. Brad Stanford of Two Story Systems, created Knowpher because he needed a way to manage his clients – all types of them. He had clients that ran the gamut of large development houses down to individual people.
Contrary to the regular advice found on this site, Brad needed a custom app because of how he had to work as a subcontractor. He received payments in all different methods, at all different times, and sometimes they were partial payments. He invoiced the same way. The large development houses all had their own tools, none of which he could use with his clients. So, Brad developed Knowpher out of necessity. When the pants don’t fit, you make new pants! Brad could now see all of his priorities in one place at one time. Furthermore, he could link to the tools the development houses used for reference.
Since Susan consulted with Brad on his project management set up, Brad reached out to see if his app would help the community of people just like him. And, she agreed that it would! If there’s anything our owner remembers from being a project manager: a lot can go wrong during custom software development. You need a way to manage yourself and your clients to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
